On 17 to 21 February 2024, the IMZ - International Music + Media Centre's 2024 Avant Première Music + Media Market took place in Berlin, Germany. Avant Première is the world's most important international trade fair for cultural TV and VOD content and presents the latest music and dance film productions for global broadcasting.
On the occasion of the event's "Innovation Day", participants were invited to attend the session "Driving Digital Innovation in Opera and Dance" discussing the transformative impact of digital innovation on artistic expression, audience engagement, and industry sustainability.
The panel discussion, moderated by Peter Maniura, Director of the IMZ Academy, featured respresentatives of the FEDORA Prizes and Next Stage Grants, including:
Hannah Conway, Composer and Artistic Director at Sound Voice,
respresenting "The Sound Voice Project" - Winner of the FEDORA Digital Prize 2023
Mirja Telzerow, European People Director at Kearney, and member of the Next Stage Grants Jury
representing Kearney, sponsor of the FEDORA Digital Prize and Expert Partner of the Next Stage Grants
Hannu Järvensivu, Assisting Head of the Set Workshop and XR Stage Project Manager at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet, representing "XR Stage", Recipient of the Next Stage Grants 2022
Sarah Halpin, Digital Producer at Irish National Opera
representing "ISOLDE", Recipient of the Next Stage Grants 2022
Diandra de Lima, Funding Programmes Manager at FEDORA, also took part of the expert Jury for the IMZ x Sunny Side of the Doc Pitching Session for all Digital Creations and XR projects in the performing arts: innovative stories or digital installations created through new convergences of documentary, culture and immersive technology.
