FEDORA's Activities

From 4 to 6 December 2024, Diandra de Lima, our Funding Programmes Manager, had the opportunity to share FEDORA’s expertise regarding digital project development as a guest speaker at the 10th edition of the "Immersive Tech Week" in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Immersive Tech Week 2024 marked the third year of the IMPULSE Funding Programme, aimed for creators and entrepreneurs across Europe. The IMPULSE funding programme is a collaboration between VRDays Foundation, XR4Europe, Virtual Switzerland, Stereopsia EUROPE, and IFFR Pro, and its goal is to support immersive tech projects. It helps creators and entrepreneurs connect, secure funding, and improve their projects through coaching, pitching, and matchmaking opportunities.

Driven by a desire to understand how Europe supports immersive innovation, participants explored the various funding opportunities available to immersive content creators, including VR projects, augmented reality, and mixed reality experiences. Additionally, we actively participated as speakers in a panel, offering an overview of how FEDORA has been supporting digital projects in the dance and opera sectors through innovation, sustainability, and inclusion.

Topics such as XR, audience interaction, the development of new funds, and digital innovation to drive efficiency were also discussed. To highlight these points, Diandra presented three successful examples from the latest winners of the Digital Prize category of the FEDORA Biennale Prizes, that is supported by Kearney and delivered in collaboration with the IMZ - International Music + Media Centre, offering insights into the challenges, complexities, and opportunities involved in supporting XR project development.
