Breakfast with Philip Venables, composer of "Denis & Katya", FEDORA-GENERALI Opera Prize Winner 2019
On 4 July, the FEDORA team was very pleased to organise an exclusive breakfast at the Palais Garnier, with Philip Venables, the composer of "Denis & Katya", FEDORA-GENERALI Opera Prize Winner 2019. Over the last 7 years, "Denis & Katya" has been one of the 10 most performed new operatic works in the world (Source: Operabase, 2023).

This artistic meeting gave us the opportunity to exchange with the British composer and to talk about his artistic vision, his creative process, and the importance of sustaining and promoting contemporary works in the opera sector. Before leaving, guests were offered an exclusive copy of the first page of the score for “Denis & Katya”, signed by Philip Venables.
Philip Venables’ latest opera, “The Faggots and Their Friends Between Revolutions”, will be performed at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, on 7, 8, and 9 July 2023.
