Sharon Eyal, today one of the world' most renowned choreographers and former winner of the FEDORA – VAN CLEEF & ARPELS Prize for Ballet 2017 for Love Chapter 2, will present her latest ballet creation at the Paris National Opera this spring. The former dancer and artistic collaborator of the Batsheva Dance Company revisits her 2015 work OCD Love, offering a reimagined version for the dancers of the Opera. Inspired by a poem by American slam poet Neil Hilborn, who openly shares his experience with obsessive-compulsive disorder, the piece explores the challenges and complexities of love.
Born in Jerusalem and based in France, Sharon Eyal danced with the Batsheva Dance Company from 1990 to 2008, serving as Associate Artistic Director and House Choreographer. During this time, she created 16 works. In 2005, she began collaborating with Gai Behar, and together they founded their company, L-E-V, in 2013, which became a non-profit in 2022. L-E-V’s repertoire includes 7 works, such as Chapter 3: The Brutal Journey of the Heart (2019) and Love Chapter 2 (2017), co-produced by major venues like Sadler’s Wells and Julidans. The company has performed over 200 times worldwide.
Eyal and Behar have also created works for renowned companies such as Nederlands Dance Theatre, StaatsBallett Berlin, and the Paris Opera. In addition, she has collaborated with Dior and The National, appearing in music videos and live performances. Her career is a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and the ability of dance to transcend boundaries—on stage, in fashion, and through music.

Love Chapter 2 is the second episode of the creation called Love Cycle, made by Sharon Eyal uniquely for the company. Accompanied by DJ Ori Lichtik's live music, the dancers explore through their movements social isolation, solitude, and the lack of connections of nowadays world.
“It’s about love that always misses, or lovers who keep missing each other,” says Sharon Eyal.
