Originally conceived as a danced piece with young people of the Theatre club for teenager, Theater Magdeburg had to adapt "Poetry in Motion" into a film because of the COVID-19 crisis. The dancer and choreographer Pablo Lastras Sanchez enabled the young pupils to express themselves through dance and mouvements. Inspired by texts of Robert Frost (1874-1963) they created a completely new work of dance, words and music.
The piece "Les Séparables" (in German “Die Zertrennlichen”) by Fabrice Melqiot became very popular in the last years on theatre stages in Germany. Director Valentin Kleinschmidt has turned this witty and poetic youth play into a film set inside Magdeburg's almost empty theater. While Melquiot's characters overcome cultural barriers, time and space with their friendship, the theater as a backdrop tells of the magic of special places where things are possible that are still waiting to be fulfilled in our world outside.
The theatrical film is offered as a digital stream for school classes and is accompanied by a theatrical educational workshop, which can take place both digitally and analogously in the classroom, depending on the possibility. Theater Magdeburg was very happy to be able to realize the piece as a stream to be shown in classes, schools and to teachers in the whole region of Sachsen-Anhalt and even in Lower Saxony.
