Platform Members, Roadshow

Join us in celebrating World Youth Skills Day, focusing this year on “Peace and Development”!

Development and peace in the world of opera and dance means empowering young artists with the necessary skills to succeed, fostering cross-cultural collaboration, and creating inclusive opportunities that bridge divides and promote mutual understanding.

On this occasion, we are happy to highlight some of the local roadshows organised by our platform members, that highlight the importance of youth inclusion in their visibility campaigns.

Out of The Ordinary - Irish National Opera

Out of the Ordinary/As an gNách (Winner of the FEDORA Digital Prize 2021) led by Irish National Opera is the world’s first virtual reality community opera experienced through a VR headset. The screening was open to the schools of Ireland, and offered free workshops to help students explore careers in the arts.

My Place in the World - Teatro Sociale di Como

Teatro Sociale di Como, in collaboration with CSV Insubria and with the participation of various local associations, organised “My Place in the World”, a free and accessible event including tours, exhibitions, workshops and creative sessions for children, highlighting their commitment to social sustainability.

We Are Musicians - Stara Zagora State Opera

"We are musicians" (FEDORA Education Prize 2021 Nominee) gave young children the opportunity to perform on the stage of Stara Zagora State Opera in 2023. The project is a sensory-friendly interactive opera dedicated to children and youth with special educational needs.

Unerhört - Theatre Magdeburg

“Unerhört”, a project led by Theater Magdeburg, enables children and teenagers to discover theatre and opera through a variety of workshops, such as choral speech, urban dance, circus and acrobatics, and creative writing.

The Whale - Nationalthater Mannheim

"The Whale", organised by Nationaltheater Mannheim, draws attention to climate change by using the true story of a sperm whale that was blown up in Oregon in 1970. This participatory music theatre piece, supporting young emerging talents, involves schoolchildren and new audiences as the "crisis team" exploring sustainable solutions that could have been taken.

Spotlights on Future: A New Massimo Generation - Fondazione Teatro Massimo Palermo

In their web series "Spotlights on Future: A New Massimo Generation", Fondazione Teatro Massimo Palermo celebrate youth in the operatic world and highlight the importance of giving young people a voice with each episode dealing with a different theme.
