Short Bio

Mathias is a multi-faceted artist: electronic music composer, producer, performer, improviser, sound installation designer, music critic, sound illustrator, composer for dance and theater, teacher, Author of numerous solo projects, and founding member of several musical ensembles. He released over thirty albums on various international labels and frequently performs on stage alone or with other musicians. His spatial work is regularly presented in galleries and art centers. As a composer, he began in 1998, when, having just graduated from the Beaux-Arts in Cergy Pontoise. His work has developed under a variety of identities. Under the pseudonym Lena, he has produced electronic music strongly inspired by reggae, African music and German minimal techno. Showing a deep interest in live electronic music, he developed a highly personal approach to electronic improvisation, based on the use of multiple devices to engage the whole body in the production of realtime musical performances.
