Short Bio

Mia Habis obtained her degree in French literature at the Université St-Joseph, then at the Sorbonne Paris IV before obtaining a Master's degree in marketing and advertising from the Ecole Supérieure de Publicité and the IAA in Paris. After working in advertising, copywriting, teaching and event management for several years, she joins Maqamat in 2008, first as a dancer and teacher. She then became involved in the creation and implementation of artistic concepts for the company's projects and implemented new communication strategies to raise awareness and broaden the audience of the festival. She developed numerous long-term collaborations with local and international institutions. In 2015, she was appointed by the Festival Committee as Artistic Director of the annual BIPOD - Beirut International Platform of Dance and Moultaqa Leymoun. Habis is now based in Lyon. She continues to co-directs Maqamat. She is also the co-founder of the digital cultural platform Citerne.live
