Peggy Olislaegers

Short Bio

Peggy is a dancer, playwright and dance activist, working in hip-hop, contemporary dance and ballet, and a leading artistic and strategic advisor to choreographers and performing arts institutes in Europe. She made her name while directing the Dutch Dance Festival (2010-2016), when she was also co-initiator of the innovative European projects Act Your Age, Pivot Dance and Performing Gender. She was Associate Artist of the Rambert/London dance company (2015-2019) and is Research and Development Associate of the Dutch National Ballet/Amsterdam (2019 -). Olislaegers trained at the Tilburg Dance Academy, now Fontys. She has extensive experience in almost every aspect of the performing arts, from performer and creator to programmer and artistic director. In Europe, she is considered a pioneer of dance dramaturgy. She is known for her extensive knowledge of and sensitivity to new developments in the performing arts, and has advised choreographers in the Netherlands and internationally.
