Romain Bly is a French musician and actor based in Rotterdam. His primary instruments are the French Horn and drums, and he is a core member of the European new music ensemble, S T A R G A Z E.
Romain works across classical, contemporary, pop and jazz repertoires, and has performed in several notable music and dance-theatre productions, most notable Teac Damsa's "Mám", for which he was also Musical Director.
Romain is a versatile performer with a capacity to bring a theatrical subtlety and intensity to his portrayal of character roles, something which has had a massive impact on the dramaturgical direction of The Curing Line. He plays the characters of Manus in the show as well as many other colourful and impactful cameo appearances. His playing is pivotal to the shifting of the musical energy of the piece between radically different worlds, from the raucous to the most painfully vulnerable.
