Romy Roelofsen (1978) is co-founder, stage-director and co-artistic leader at music theatre Platform Het Geluid Maastricht. She has directed a.o. La Tragèdie de Carmen (Bizet/Brook) with Bas Wiegers/Manoj Kamps (Nederlandse Reisopera), Erwartung (Schönberg) and Words & Music (Beckett/Feldmann) with Asko|Schönberg/Manoj Kamps.
With Het Geluid she develops, creates and produces innovative music theatre concepts that address the pressing issues of our times. She has specialised in guiding processes between inter- and transdisciplinary partners connecting the arts with other domains like social organisations, science and education.
She is a co-laureate of the Prince Bernard Culture Fund inspiration prize 2015 and with 'Wesendonck Lieder Heute' co-winner of the Berliner Opernpreis 2016.
In 2024 new work of Het Geluid is premiering at LaMonnaie/DeMunt as well as at the Münchener Biennale.
