Short Bio

Sinéad McKenna is one of Ireland’s leading lighting designers, and she has worked around the world at prestigious theatres and festivals including the Donmar Warehouse in London, Théâtre de Châtelet in Paris, Malmö Opera, Grange Festival and the Melbourne International Arts Festival. An experienced lighting designer for opera, she is expert at mapping musical dramaturgies through music. She also brings a dazzling spectacular flair developed through working with music artists like Grace Jones. She has worked extensively with director Tom Creed, and their close collaboration will bring a particular intensity to the lighting design for elsewhere. She uses conventional theatre lighting, moving lights and light objects to create vivid lighting worlds on stage that reflect the outer and inner lives of the characters and situations.
