Tido Visser began his musical career as a singer. He was co-founder of the Kassiopeia Quintet, with which he recorded all of the madrigals of the Italian composer Gesualdo. In 2013, Tido Visser accepted the invitation of the renowned Netherlands Chamber Choir and took over its artistic direction and management. Under his leadership the choir presented groundbreaking projects like 150 Psalms and Forgotten, showing in a.o. Lincoln Center New York, Brussels, Hong Kong and Adelaide Arts Festival.
Recently he worked as stage director with choreographer Nanine Linning on a fully staged version of Orlando Di Lasso's Lagrime di San Pietro. He also directed the semi-autobiographical opera #uncut by Renske Vrolijk, about a trans woman. It received 5 stars in the leading Dutch newspaper Volkskrant. Visser also works as musical dramaturge for modern dance productions, recently for the production Anima Obscura by Theater Bielefeld.
