Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) is one of the world’s leading contemporary dance companies. The group is based in The Hague, but performs for an international audience of 150,000 visitors in Europe, America, Asia and Australia. Since its founding in 1959, NDT has paved its own way in the modern dance field.
Choreographers such as Glen Tetley and Hans van Manen have prominently left an avant-garde mark on the artistic face of the company. Their non-conformist, progressive productions put NDT on the national and international map. Since then, the company has built a rich repertoire, consisting of more than 620 ballets by master choreographers Jiří Kylián and Hans van Manen, Sol León & Paul Lightfoot, Crystal Pite and Marco Goecke, Ohad Naharin, Gabriela Carrizo, Franck Chartier, Hofesh Shechter, Edward Clug and Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar and many others.
The purpose of NDT is to offer unique experiences and perspectives in dance that engage conversation and promote diversity. NDT is a leading contemporary dance company dedicated to creation, research, and talent development. The company is led by artistic director Emily Molnar and managing director Willemijn Maas.
In season 2024-2025, NDT 1 and NDT 2 present five groundbreaking productions featuring world premieres and revisits of beloved works. A season of bold perspectives. The dancers will present inspiring programmes this season – not just in the Netherlands, but also internationally.
As a house for creation, we value experimentation, collaboration, and the development of dance artists. To support this, we have created a series of programmes – each connected to different stages in a dancer and maker’s career.
You help us realise our ambitions around talent development and education. Your support contributes to NDT as a voice for art, dancers, audiences and society. NDT has cultural ANBI status, so your support also comes with additional tax benefits.
Clad in bodysuits that highlight every move and muscle, the dancers exude a detached, otherworldly air and leave the audience entranced. Into the Hairy tests the limits of contemporary dance by connecting classical dance with the underground club culture.
