"I am thrilled to join an international network that supports new voices in dance and in the performing arts"
Simony Monteiro, Artistic Director
Orsolina28 Art Foundation was born to promote and transform the future of the performing arts into a social culture and to promote dance as a movement discipline, an art form and an instrument for wellbeing (even more so when juxtaposed with other related disciplines in a multidisciplinary formula), through the organization of courses, creative and educational residencies and performances, for the most diverse social groups, from renowned professionals to amateurs and including vulnerable communities. Its vision is to create a unique and special place which gives rise to encounters and exchange between different cultures and disciplines; a place where you can rediscover the importance and beauty of reconnecting with the surrounding natural environment and landscape, respecting them deeply; a context conducive to a more profound knowledge of ourselves in relation to the ecosystem and to the people who surround us.
Orsolina28 Art Foundation ETS is pleased to announce the program for the 2024 Season, a series of shows resulting from multiple creation and training residencies. Artistic residencies dedicated to the creation of new works, our Focus on Creation, will culminate in a series of free performances. Our Intensives will allow the new generation to learn from choreographers and dancers selected for their impact in the dance world. Finally, Cherry Notes Series, Orsolina28's musical program, will return, with nine residencies resulting in as many performances
Orsolina28 provides them with an environment conducive to artistic research, innovation and creation, fostering exchange among the many invited artists, who are at various stages of their careers, as well as with students who visit the Foundation for training residencies. The result is a unique space for discussion and sharing, with key players in national and international dance and music coming together.
Call for Creation supports artistic projects of emerging choreographers under 35. Since 2021, this grant has sponsored the creation of nine projects by young European artists, who benefited from a fully-paid residency. For many, O28’s Call for Creation has been the first opportunity to create and develop a work involving multiple artists, including dancers and composers. In 2024, the selected project for Call for Creation is "The Party", by Maximilian Revell
