Bach’s cantatas, Hofesh Shechter’s profoundly affecting choreography and audio testimony of people facing death come together in a moving, thought-provoking and life-affirming dance, music and theatre piece. Only by dancing in the abyss can we celebrate the LIGHT.
"The Jury of the FEDORA - VAN CLEEF & ARPELS Prize for Ballet 2020 chose the project of Hofesh Shechter and the Royal Danish Theatre, based on Bach, but treating the historic Bach in a contemporary way. It was an integrated project with singers, dancers, and the wonderful Danish baroque Orchestra and the Jury believed in the huge talent of Hofesh Shechter."
