Young Opera (landscape)
Young Opera programme is a groundbreaking initiative by the National Theatre designed to engage and inspire students aged 15-25. This comprehensive programme aims to introduce young audiences to the world of opera, making it accessible, relevant, and appealing.

Presentation

Project Young Opera is focused on young audience between 15 till 20 years. The goal of the project is to bring a new opera audience to the National Theatre Opera and State opera through the interactive workshops.

This project is based on series of 6 workshops where the participants will work on one selected opera shows (Parsifal, Rheingold, Dialogues des Carmelites) by using AI and VR to present their own VR opera production. After the six sessions, the results of the workshop will be presented to the artistic teams and to the audience and the final discussion and comparison with staged opera will follow. 

All workshops will be led by creative teams that work in VR development and in music and opera industry and the partnership with Czech technical university is planned. Throughout the project, 2-3 different schools will be participating. The school will be selected in September 2024.

Educational approach: to introduce students to opera in a way that is engaging, educational, and fun. Cultivate a deep understanding and appreciation of opera as a multifaceted art form.

Technology: to use modern technology to enhance the learning experience and make opera relevant to today's youth.

Ambassadors: to equip participants with the knowledge and enthusiasm to spread the word about opera among their peers.
