About the Project
“Echoes of Time: A Dance of Centuries” is an innovative performance that intertwines live ballet with real-time digital elements, creating a seamless fusion of art and technology. By celebrating the artistic legacy of Stara Zagora Opera, this project, in collaboration with the Finnish National Opera and Ballet and Aalto University, represents a leap forward in how audiences experience dance and opera, transforming classical art into a dynamic, modern narrative.

Echoes of Time offers a bold step into the future of ballet. This cross-border collaboration features simultaneous performances in Bulgaria and Finland, where dancers interact in real-time across digital landscapes. Technical teams from both theaters will work closely to overcome the challenges of synchronizing performances across distances. The performance explores deep themes like identity and connection across time, using the medium of dance to transcend physical borders and showcase a unified, emotionally resonant story.
