A collective entity on stage, with eyes fixed on the horizon, strides forward embodying a unified voice and purpose for a change to come, transforming breath into movement ,movement into sound and sound into words. Its movement wants to be a song in which the work moves.

About the Project

Up to now Christos Papadopoulos work approaches movement like a hidden secret at its elementary and every day characteristics.

His extensive research was immersing his "gaze" and the audience's "gaze" as well, into the movement, looking for the point where movement finds its cause charm and freedom.

Now he is brewing a new venture that leads grim to uncharted areas and he consciously pursues loosing his sense of surety that acquired art provides, and aim to unexpected areas that still ground on his personal questions and quests.

So his next step concerns text. A text that keeps on being charged with energy and rhythm, reaching a point that is transformed into music throughout singing. In brief we could say that he wants to connect movement with words. Words that keep on pulsating so intensely up to a point where their meaning is lost, but we keep on understanding them throughout their materiality, rhythm, pulse and vibration.

In embarking on this adventure, Papadopoulos was driven by a deep connection to memories from his childhood and teenage years, hearing memories that resonate with countless Greeks.

These collective memories are intricately tied to the destiny of the Greek landscape throughout the is world war, the civil war the junta but also in contrast, the collective hope for a better future and the beauty of the Greek landscape. Specifically, Papadopoulos sought to consciously explore the profound influence of two significant Greek musicians, Mikis Theodorakis (known for works like "Axion Esti,"

"Epifania," and "Canto General") and Manos Hatzidakis ("Ornithes" or "Birds"). His aim was to investigate whether words, when wielded skillfully, could expand and transcend mere language, becoming a form of abstraction that could evoke a visceral response

- a raised hand, a swaying body, or a trembling leg.

Drawing inspiration from the Ancient Greek drama, Papadopoulos also delved into the world of the Ancient Greek Chorus. This ancient dramatic tradition served as a wellspring of references and ideas, enabling him to expand his exploration into the creation of a dynamic entity on the stage. He aimed to tap into the collective memory and consciousness of the audience, asking fundamental questions along the way. Could text composition follow the same principles as choreographing a body in motion? How closely could one unite body and words, or words and body? And, perhaps most intriguingly, could this fusion of expression become a shared, transparent, and straightforward experience for all to witness and understand?

These were the inquiries driving his artistic journey, seeking to blur the lines between the spoken word and the language of movement.

Why should you support us?

We are aiming to create an experimental dance piece that delves into the human experience through the universal language of movement and voice. This project is more than just a performance—it’s an exploration of emotions and the power of connection. Through this collaboration with diverse artists, we aim to inspire, provoke thought, and bring people together.

We are proud to be based in Greece, a country with a rich artistic heritage but where support for the arts, especially for experimental work, is limited. Despite these challenges, we are committed to creating something that can inspire and resonate not just locally but globally. By supporting us, you are helping amplify voices from a place where artists often struggle for the resources and opportunities to bring their visions to life.

Your contribution will help us fund rehearsal spaces, costumes, production design, microphones and provide our dancers with the tools they need to fully explore and express this transformative piece. Dance has the power to transcend words, and this work will reach audiences on a deep, emotional level.

By joining our campaign, you’re not just supporting a dance performance—you’re investing in the future of experimental art and empowering artists who are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to making this dream a reality. Help us bring this bold vision to life and share the magic of dance with the world!
